The Small Business Centre (SBC) will once again be releasing the annual Starter Company Plus grant.
Applications are ready and available for all small businesses to apply as of May 13, 2022. This grant is
distributed on a first come first serve basis in consideration of the grant eligibility until all funds have
been allocated.

“Every year we see some unique uses for this grant, but the bottom line is always that we get to help
small businesses in one way or another”, says Luc Fournier, Program Coordinator for the Small
Business Centre. “As one of the only small business grants available in our area we are proud to
continue supporting our small businesses in this way.”

The Starter Company Plus grant is a general use grant and can be used for equipment purchases, new
marketing opportunities, support with new business purchases, or supporting existing businesses in
their expansions. For a full list of eligibilities please visit www.smallbusinessctr.com

“This grant has supported many businesses in the past”, says Amber Darling, Executive Director for
Trenval. “We look forward to another year of grants in 2022 and doing all the we can as we move past
this pandemic.”

The program is designed to stimulate economic growth and create positive job impact for our
communities. SBC can accept applications from a business located in the City of Belleville, the City of
Quinte West, Hastings County, Prince Edward County and Lennox & Addington County.

If you apply for the grant and are denied, The Small Business Centre offers ongoing supports to all
businesses over and above the grant programs as well. Even if a business is not eligible for a grant
they still have access to the full spectrum of resources and supports that are available year-round.

The Starter Company Plus grant is funded by the Government of Ontario through the Ministry of
Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade in support of small businesses in the Province of
Ontario. The Digital Marketing Enhancement grant is funded by the SBC Ontario Network.
