(This post was originally posted on April 20, 2020; updated April 30, 2021)

Love in the time of a pandemic has to keep its distance, but there are still lots of ways to show your mom how much she means to you this Mother’s Day. While it’s not business as usual for retailers throughout Hastings County, many have shifted to online models that allow you to get a special something for mom and have it delivered or available for pick-up. From afternoon tea and flowers to yoga and home decor, here are local options to find the perfect gift.

Self-Care and Relaxation

Yoga with Creekside Yoga

43 Mill Street, Stirling | 613-395-4343
creeksideyoga.ca

What better way to make sure mom is taking care of her physical and mental well-being than with the gift of yoga? Although Jess and Nate Rogers have had to close their yoga studio to in-person classes, they can now lead you through lotus and cobra and downward dog poses in virtual classes. To get mom signed up, just head to creeksideyoga.ca/shop and purchase a 1-, 5-, or 10-class pass. She’ll then be able to access all of the online classes through the special Facebook page. Once Creekside Yoga re-opens, mom will also be able to use all of those class passes for in-person sessions.

Spa Day at Grail Springs

2004 Bay Lake Rd, Bancroft | 1-877-553-5772
grailsprings.com

Give a gift certificate for a day of self-care at the Grails Spring Retreat Centre for Wellbeing. The day spa package offers access to morning class (like yoga or hikes), use of the outdoor meditation thermal circuit and facilities, as well as a two-course lunch and spa credit. That means she can also indulge in a hot stone massage or facial (or both!). NOTE: Grail Spring is currently closed due to the pandemic, and is planning for their reopening when public health restrictions lift.
