Welcome to Mortimer Organic Farm!

Located near Coe Hill, on The Ridge Road, a scenic route along the top of an esker left behind by glaciers. The forest opens up to land first cleared for farming in the late 1800's by Scottish Settlers who found the only land suitable for agriculture in Wollaston Township that wasn't mostly rocks.

Mortimer Organic Farm encompasses 100 acres near the end of The Ridge Road, just past Bank Robbers Lane. The fields are home to grass-fed Belted Galloway cattle (the Oreo cattle), pastured Berkshire/Tamworth pigs, and free-range chickens. The Farm has apple pear and plum trees and vegetable gardens fenced by Concord and Frontenac grape vines. The on-site Farm Store in the historic barn sells beef, pork, chicken, multicoloured eggs, vegetables and fruits, all raised following organic farm practices.

Come out to meet Wendy and Brent to hear about where their potatoes come from, the types of pumpkins and squash grown and more about the history of the area. When you visit during Farms Open, take a picnic blanket, some snacks and sit outside the lawn of their historic barn to take in and enjoy their beautiful farm. If you enjoy quilting, ask Wendy to visit her 3rd floor quilting room.

Visiting Notes: The Ridge Road runs through the Mortimer Organic Farm property, just be cautious other cars will be travelling up and down. Parking is available in front of the barn and Farm Store.
