Every Saturday from July 11th to August 29th, A Place For The Arts and the Muse Gallery & Café are sponsoring a fun event. They are inviting you, the public, residents, and visitors to the area, to come and take a closer look at their huge artistic creation. This 44-foot-by-8-foot mural welcomes everyone entering Bancroft on Hwy #28 and #62. Its vibrant colours and abstract theme of nature warm the heart of the Bancroft community.
The event features a set of riddles about the imagery depicted in the mural, both in Arne Roosman's original painting, and in their revitalization efforts. They encourage you to look more closely at the details of the mural paintings and the artists who painted them. The riddle questions can be answered by looking at the mural and the mural booklet they published, which features the artists and their work. A copy of the booklet can be viewed or obtained at A Place For The Arts to assist you with your discoveries.
You may know several of the artists and sponsors involved in this community project. This is your opportunity to participate in their artistic world and honour their creation.
At the end of each Saturday this event is running, the submission with the most correct answers will be selected. They will be awarded with a gift coupon from the A Place For The Arts and the Muse Gallery & Café.
At the end of the summer, on September 5th, the Grand Prize winner will be announced and will receive the Grand Prize Gift Basket, which includes a Kettle Drum created by Gayle Crosmaz, the facilitator of the mural project, valued at $250 as well as many other fantastic prizes included in the basket.
