Free Business Coaching
We offer free and confidential business coaching to anyone across our 14 member municipalities – from an entrepreneur looking to turn his or her passion into a business, or an established business owner looking to expand or needing help with their management plans. Christine McLean coordinates this program for Hastings County and facilitates a people-centred approach to community and economic development. Through this program we assist business start-up, connect resources and inspire a culture of entrepreneurial thinking and spirit.

Workshops & Business Articles
Take advantage of training and workshops that can enhance your business, that are offered both in Hastings and/or virtually. And read the latest tips and tricks in business development from marketing and finances to sector specific trends.
Our local Community Futures Development Corporations situated in Bancroft and Belleville can provide financing of up to $250,000 for local small and medium enterprises. This is for those who cannot access financing through traditional lenders. They also have non repayable grant programs available from time-to-time. For large projects, we can connect you with staff at the Business Development of Canada (BDC). We encourage you to contact us directly to discuss your project and connect you with the federal and provincial opportunities that may assist.
Loyalist College offers financial incentives if you hire one of their candidates. If you’re looking for help to train a new employee, Loyalist College can work with you on training and the Canada/Ontario Job Grant can provide up to $10,000 in funding. As well, maybe you would like to help mentor a young person through the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program, or utilize the Ontario Job Creation Partnership Program.
