On April 6, the Government of Canada announced an investment of $3 million for Ontario’s Highlands Tourism Organization through the Tourism Relief Fund, being delivered by the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario).

With this investment, Ontario’s Highlands Tourism Organization will deliver the Regional Tourism Relief Fund – Ontario’s Highlands fund to local incorporated tourism businesses and organizations of up to $100,000 in non-repayable contributions. The fund is open to incorporated businesses, not-for-profit incorporated organizations, destination marketing organizations, municipalities, and Indigenous, First Nation, Metis and Inuit-owned businesses, communities, and organizations.

This application-based program will help facilitate the recovery and long-term growth of the tourism economy in the region, supporting tourism stakeholder investment in creating new or enhanced experiences.  The first intake for applications is open now and closes May 15, 2022.
